Who We Are

In 1898, land was acquired from Dan Dunn at the location known then as the Boanerges Cemetery. For gatherings to begin, a simple log building was constructed; this original structure remains part of the church today.

Over the years, Boanerges Baptist Church has served as a beacon within the community. We at Boanerges are very grateful that the Lord has enabled our church to shine the light of His divine truth. By following the presence of God, we find guidance for our lives in the hope of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the “Light of the World,” and we pray that our mission remains faithful—to effectively reach out to the unsaved, cultivate spiritual growth, and be a place of refuge consistent with God’s principles of love and compassion. Our goal is to fulfill the Great Commission and bring honor to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Throughout the past decade, the church has been guided by the motto “Christ is King.” This motto has inspired and empowered our members to engage in service and share the Gospel with the world around us. Our ministries include local outreach programs focused on leading others to Christ, as well as support for international missionaries and global missions efforts.
